On February 24, 2022, her husband woke her with words that changed her life forever: "Get up, the war has begun." Since then, Alicia-Halyna has lived between two cities — Kyiv and Lviv. The road west took an entire day, and the first months became a relentless search for housing and an effort to hold on to balance. She wanted to return home, but her neighborhood in the capital was constantly under fire.

After severe stress and a hospital stay, Alicia-Halyna found herself on the brink of life and death — to the point where she even thought about euthanasia. But she survived. And now — she lives to the fullest. She is doing what she once never had time for. She dreams, she plans, she embraces her loved ones. The war has forever set all the priorities straight: the most important things are life, love, and closeness.
