The poetess Bohdana Haivoronska managed to see the russian invasion in both Bucha and Irpin. She left Bucha on foot on February 28. She had only a small backpack with her documents and a power bank with her.
Bohdana planned to visit friends and return. But she couldn't – the military wouldn't let civilians into the city. She spent a week in Irpin. Since the second of March, enemy strikes on the city began. The house nearby was simply destroyed. On March 8, she learned by word of mouth that she needed to get to the evacuation point. Luck helped her to find the car in which Bohdana got to the Romanivskyi bridge. And she always remembered the whistle of shells over her head.
