Three men in Nelia Muschynska’s family died in this war. Two nephews are still at the front. The resident of the village of Hrynky could not stay away from volunteering. She joined the Poliski hospodyni, a volunteer workshop in neighbouring Kashperivka. Here, women from local communities bake homemade cookies for the military almost every day. It’s not just baking – it’s a piece of home for those living in the trenches. They bake up to ten boxes in one shift. They send the goodies to the front line. And from there they receive touching video messages of gratitude. In one of them, the soldiers even cried because the goodies made by their fellow countrymen reminded them of home and family comfort.
