Before the war, Inesa Homberg taught russian language, foreign literature and art at the largest school not only in Mariupol but in the entire Donetsk region. The Homberg family spent several weeks under “carpet bombing”. This is how Inesa describes the air raids by russian troops, when dozens of bombs were dropped on city neighbourhoods at the same time. During the evacuation from the city in March 2022, Inesa and other Mariupol residents found themselves in the middle of a tank battle.
