Since the beginning of russia’s large-scale invasion of Ukraine, thousands of residents of Bakhmut district have been forced to leave their homes. Some of them are registered with the Advisory Coordination Centre for Civilian Support, which operates in Dnipro. The centre provides daily support, searches for resources and responds to the urgent needs of those who have lost everything. “We try to help everyone who comes to us,” says Natalia Antypenko, the hub’s coordinator. She and her family left Bakhmut in May 2022. They hoped to return in a month or two, but the war made its own adjustments. Their house was destroyed, and they only had the car they left in.
