“After the explosion, my father- and mother-in-law were trapped in their apartment”

Serhii recalls the start of the war as a time of uncertainty and confusion, yet he never left Kyiv. On the night of April 24, 2025, a Russian missile destroyed his wife’s parents’ apartment. The elderly couple, both in their 80s and in a state of shock, had to be rescued from the blocked apartment through a neighboring flat. Fortunately, they sustained only minor injuries.
