Roman is from Kyiv. On the second day of the invasion, his family left the city but spent only three weeks in western Ukraine.  He vividly remembers how his family decided to return to the capital in March. As they approached Kyiv, friends started sending messages telling them not to go because it was too risky.  They had to turn around on the Obukhiv highway and head west again.  That night, they managed to stay in Vinnytsia, at a relative's house,  and Roman still remembers that warm welcome.  He also recalls a bike ride to Bucha  and the terrible impression the city made on them.
