The Anokhin family, parents of three, left Mariupol in 2022. For a long time, it was difficult for them, as displaced people, to find housing in Dnipro.  And rent was taking up the lion’s share of the family’s income. In the summer of 2024, more than 150 displaced families moved into a renovated dormitory in Dnipro. The Anokhins were among them.

This social housing project became possible thanks to the support of the International Organization for Migration and the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation also joined the initiative,  equipping shared-use spaces and children’s play areas. The handing over of keys to the social apartments was documented by the Museum of Civilian Voices.
